I really like Daniel Craig as an actor but I admit to being surprised by Defiance. This film showing Jews fighting back in Belarussia during World War 2 was gritty, suspenseful and simply excellent. This is based on a true story that was all but forgotten: I love those kind.
The way that brothers with a checkered past were able to find the strength to resist the Germans and the Russian partisans (all but immovable opposing forces at that time) was amazing. Craig and Liev Schreiber were fantastic in it.
